We can fight for the title and win the Europa League; Djamal reiterates SC Braga lofty ambitions
SC Braga’s Djamal Mahamat says that his side are not only capable enough of challenging for the Portuguese Primeira Liga title and but are also targeting the UEFA Europa League this season.
Libyan International, Djamal, signed for the Archbishops this summer after making the switch from Beira-Mar.
So far he has experienced a mix of things in his new surroundings. SC Braga are yet to lose a single game in either Europe or the league, however, they haven’t won all their games either; most of the fixtures have ended in costly draws.
While they lie in 3rd place, they will still have to up their game if they are to be considered as title contenders.
FC Porto stuttered in their last fixture but otherwise they have been completely wiping out their opponents and are genuine favourites.
Right behind them are Benfica, who have had put together a great run of games, which also includes a 1-1 draw with English powerhouse, Manchester United.

"SC Braga is strong, the team is working well. We are united with morale and confidence. SC Braga will continue to fight for the title. And we will try to get back to Europe League final and win it.”
When questioned about the possibility of playing their supposed title deciding game against FC Porto, the midfielder joked that both the teams will lose.
"The most importantly the game with the National. We have to win, we play at home and stay up there in the standings. Classic? I think both will lose,” Djamal was quoted as saying.
