our Creator? For the Christian, of course our Creator is the purpose and meaning of life. But I think that if we want to live independent of our Creator's authority over us, we must first reject Him, i.e. assume as true that He doesn't exist. Neither pink unicorns nor leprechauns, etc. have any claim of authority over how we live our lives.

Neither belief, either that He exists or that He doesn't is provable.

Is it possible to live our lives without some belief about our Creator?

  1. I agree that no one can live without some belief as to their own Creator.  If we are just an accident,  then we are just actors on a stage where we play scene after scene with no real plot,  and eventually the curtain goes down-- but nobody has any idea why the play was there in the first place.

If at our roots we are meaningless then we have a zero value,  if something has a zero value,  then it does not exist.  Thus if God,  (who is at our roots/ our Creator) has a zero value and does not exist,  we do not exist.

As C.S. Lewis says,  "...There are traps everywhere...'fine nets and strategems.'  God is,  if I may say it, very unscrupulous."   (Surprised by Joy)

There's a really good video about the Invisible Pink Unicorn Thought Experiment ,  I'm including it here...

  2. Yes, entirely.  That's the whole point of the Invisible Pink Unicorn  (MHHNBS)  thought experiment.

  3. "Is it possible to live our lives without some belief about our Creator?"

I'm doing it right now, so I would say yes.

  4. I did not take interest into my Creator until I was much older, even then I did not believe in him when I was younger.

Unicorns, pegasus and unisys do exist, as do earth angel, leprachauns and fairies.

Its what you do believe in and not what don't you believe in.

  5. It's not the flying pink unicorn! It's the invisible pink unicorn! Get it right.

  6. billions of people do it every day.

  7. Not only is it possible, it simplifies life tremendously.

Christians are so uptight about having to please God that they live their lives in fear.

    I have no such problem.

I live life on my own terms and I am extremely happy with my life. I have a lovely family, a good job, friends and  I never spend a second of my life worrying about what will happen to me after I die

  8. And you are an evolutionist you believe that an exploding pea created you.

  9. of course it is possible, you are proof that it is

beliefs are items of information that are given to us, not facts that we have experienced for ourselves (that is called 'knowledge')

    some people only have beliefs

    others have knowledge

    I know that God Is

    I don't 'believe' it

  10. We are living in the great rejection of God the apostasy that was prophesied long ago. They believe that they can go on like this but we have been and are being warned that God is angry at the world and it is because of the great sin of rejecting the only salvation on offer.

God upholds everything in creation and nothing can exist without him.
