We can overcome Arsenal: Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez
Barcelona will face Arsenal in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16 round at the Camp Nou on Tuesday evening. The Catalans trail 2-1 going into the second leg, after Arsenal came from behind to beat them at the Emirates stadium two weeks back.
Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez is confident that his team has the ability to overturn this deficit and advance to the quarter-finals.
In an interview to Uefa’s official website Pedro said:
"I know that the first match was a great one for the neutral fans to enjoy, but it drives us mad to lose games like that. You don't come away thinking the match was good with an intense rhythm and loads of chances,"
"You just think 'we lost' and you feel a burning desire to take the next opportunity, to get a better result and to reach the next round.
"We share a style of quick counter-attacks, though I believe we created but missed chances to score more goals in the first half over there, which would have made the game very different.
Pedro feels that his team is confident of getting a positive result as they will be playing in front of their own fans, in their own style and on their own pitch. He added that the score-line is not in their favour but they have the concentration and motivation
of overcoming it, as they have done so many times in the past.
With the fixture just on the corner, both teams are struggling with injuries and suspensions. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique picked up his second booking of the tournament, which
keeps him out of the Nou Camp tie.
On the other hand, Arsenal midfielders Alexander Song and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, who both have a 50-50 chance
of playing.
Barcelona will be hoping to turn the magic of last year’s corresponding fixture, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 scored four goals to crush the Gunners in the second leg of the quarter-final at Camp Nou.
