We've circumcised our 1 month old baby today, and I think there is too much skin left, it like the doctor didn't cut hardly anything, so please help me, and let me know what's going on, do I have to re-do it again, and cut more skin or what ? and do I have to do it as soon as possible before it completely heals or what ?

  1. id say take him to a different doctor as soon as you can, just in case you do need it done again.

  2. there can't be too much skin on a baby, he needs that skin to grow into. they deliberately leave skin over. honestly he needs his whole f******n but with what is left just leave it alone, if you mess with it you will cause further problems, pain etc. if you remove more now, he won't be able to have erections when he's fully grown (I know somebody who had that problem when he turned 17, the skin kept splitting because they took too much off when he was a baby so don't do that to your baby)

  3. I had the same thing happen also with my son. You won't be able to tell if your son is circumcised until he is 3 or so. Toddlers and babies have skin left over from being circumcised to protect the p***s. As long as you see the hole of the p***s or some part of the p***s without pulling the skin back, then the doctor did it right. I am sure this wasn't the doctors first circumcision. So try not to worry to much. Also your son will never be to to old to get his p***s re-circumcised if all else fails. As long as he has a p***s he can get it done at any age. If you have any questions try asking a family doctor. Good luck!

  4. That's normal, just leave it alone.

  5. No that's normal they do it so it doesn't constrict the p***s when it grows, if they take off too much skin it won't grow properly. A lot of people think it doesn't look "right" but he will grow into it.

He's a baby, you should be worrying about function not cosmetics.

  6. It's done differently now, and they do leave skin to protect the head.

If it is hanging over the end, too little, but my son's is about half way down the head. And it's a "perfect" cut.

  7. This is how it's done now. It is expected that as he grows in the next two to three years, the skin will naturally retract as the p***s develops a bit more. It's for protection of the sensitive skin of the glans.

  8. Just leave your poor son alone.

  9. i asked that same question when we had our son circumcised... my doctor basicly said there is more skin left for his pleasure later on in life..(in so many words) anyways thats the way they do it now..but i will warn you ,if the doctor hasn't already told you, make sure you pull that skin back during bath time, and clean under there or it will attach itself to the head..my son is 6 months old and i had no idea i  was supposed to do that( thats why we got him circumcised in the first place) so now we are deal with having to pull his skin back to break the skin away..

  10. Your baby boy does not have a fully grown p***s. He does need skin to "grow" into.

  11. share your concerns with your doc and if you don't like the answer get a sec opinion asap

  12. I don't know ,I had the same problem with  my 3 month old <but 2 dr and my friends look that's  a perfect cut
