We cut down one of our trees?

We got a tree in the front yard cut down but all of the roots were left in the ground. now the roots are sprouting and little treelettes are taking up our entire yard. how can we stop this?

there is a stump killer you can buy from a nursery or gardening center. Just follow the directions on the package.
