Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri has stated that Napoli are a different club and they do not emulate European Champions Barcelona.
Mazzarri expressed that his side does not model its game in replication of any other club in Europe, adding that he distinguishes himself as a pacesetter of the game.
The Italian mentor emphasized that he believes in innovation rather than emulation.
Barcelona are widely considered to be the juggernauts of the beautiful game and are measured as one of the most complete teams in the world.
Furthermore, it has been widely believed that La Blaugrana are currently the strongest team in Europe. The dizzying heights achieved by Pep Guardiola’s men are reminiscent of their superior game-play and strong ability to succeed in every match they
compete in.
Apart from domestic success, Barcelona are also successful internationally. La Blaugrana have managed to win the UEFA Champions League trophy twice in the last three years.
Such is the supremacy of Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona that they have often been referred to as the strongest football side of all time.
However, Napoli head coach, Mazzarri, has argued that his players do not look to base their game in accordance to Barcelona. Although he did admit that Barcelona’s style-of-play is the benchmark for all teams across Europe.
According to FIFA’s official website, the Italian tactician stated:
"We know what kind of system works best for our team and we’re trying to develop that as much as we can. We don’t model ourselves on Barcelona or any other side. But obviously Barcelona, who are making history right now, have a winning mentality and
that’s the image they’re projecting to everyone.
”A lot of other clubs have studied the way they play, and their style is a benchmark for everyone. I see myself as an innovator. I’m an Italian coach but I advocate a flexible style of football that isn’t based on just the one system.”
After enjoying a spectacular start to the season in the Italian Serie A, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 are currently seventh in the league table.
