New Zealand’s left-arm seamer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 Test.
India went into the match without likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CA-Pujara-c1209, batting
at No. 3, in his only fourth Test, scored his maiden Test century, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Kohli-c2737 (58) supported him in a 125-run stand for the fourth wicket, after losing the openers in the morning session.
Lavishing praise on rookie Pujara, the 23-year-old left-arm medium-pace bowler said that his side should have dominated after taking early wickets of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s big guns, but they failed to put pressure on youngsters.
"It was an awesome innings. [Pujara] is very patient and played well. I think India batted well. They played an attacking brand of cricket at the start and we took early wickets of the big guns," Boult said at the post-day press conference.
"The plan was to put pressure on younger players and we had a big opportunity to cash in but we missed the bus there," he added further.
At stumps on Day one, the hosts were 307 for five, with Pujara unbeaten on 119 and skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 not out on 29.
The Rotorua seamer, who made his Test debut in December last year, and has so far played four matches for the Kiwis, returned with figures of 63 for 2, from 16 overs. Boult’s scalps included http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 Tendulkar’s wicket as well. The rookie
pacer was ecstatic at claiming the prized scalp of Master Blaster.
"It was a obviously a huge wicket of Sachin. It is something I’ll always remember," said the left-armer. "It was special to get Tendulkar out. It [the ball] got in and I was lucky to sneak through his defence. It’s a huge honour," he
added further.
Boult said that the game was still pretty much balanced adding that the opening session on Friday will be crucial for both the sides.
