We feel comfortable playing in Colombo, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Hafeez-c76898 – Cricket News Update
Ahead of Pakistan’s first Super 8 encounter, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, skipper Mohammad Hafeez has expressed that his side has played a lot of cricket in Colombo and feels comfortable on the batting-friendly conditions at the Premadasa.
The Green Shirts outclassed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BB-McCullum-c1129 smashing 123
against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, the highest individual knock in the T20 history.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eoin-Joseph-Gerard-Morgan-c56032 have also enjoyed batting at the venue.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s main strength is their bowling attack, which looked a little vulnerable in the fixture against Bangladesh. However, Hafeez thinks that the bowlers deserve the benefit of the doubt, with the conditions heavily in favour
of the batsmen.
The Pakistan captain is expecting the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-Tanvir-c90665 to perform better in the Super eights.
"Pitches in the group matches were really good for batting. Our bowlers tried hard to get something out of them but sometimes you can have an off day," said the Pakistan skipper. "Anyone can have an off day, anyone can bowl badly.
But with the positive attitude among our bowlers, I am confident they can return to rhythm soon."
With three extra-ordinary spinners and recently developed depth in the batting department, the Green Shirts are one of the strongest contenders of the World T20, being the only team in the world to have qualified for the semi-finals
of all three mega events played so far.
Hafeez wants his side to acclimatize in Colombo as soon as possible, as there is not much room for error with the tournament nearing its end.
"I know the conditions will change from Kandy to Colombo, adjustability will be a factor. We have played enough here in Colombo, we know the conditions well," he added.
The Men in Green will take on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 on Tuesday in their last Super 8 match.
