  1. the mom might have pushed him out of the nest cause it had something wrong with it

  2. feed it worms and a little water now and then

the most that you can do now is just to try to keep it and feed it because after a human touches it the mother will NOT take it back.

they usually don't live but if it does and it grows up you can bring it to a place where they rehabilitate birds back into the wild

  3. Some pet stores sell a mixture for baby birds, just remember to get the eyedropper to feed it.  I have seen people mush up worm and feed them  good luck!!  If you have a pet bird in the house you need to get rid of it wild birds carry all kinds of parasites.

  4. He is not a fledgling - is correct. Or not yet fledged.

Try a local Human So. and ask them for help. Or wild life So.

Look around for the nest, it shouldn't be far if this chick can't fly. If you find the nest, return the chcik to it.

May have fallen out or been pushed out of the nest.

  5. If you cannot get the baby back into the nest you need to keep it warm, the shoe box lined with paper towel and covered with another towel. You can feed a dog food mixture from starling talk... Recipe: Handfeeding Mixture

    1 cup soaked dog/cat food

    1/4 cup of applesauce

    1 hard boiled egg

Avian vitamins (follow dosage on package)

Around 750 mg calcium (I use Tums Smooth Dissolve tablet) ground to powder and dissolved in a little water.

    Water

Mix all ingredients together, and add enough water to make it the consistency of cooked oatmeal as seen in the photo at right.

NEVER feed worms, they can cause gapeworm which can be fatal, never inject liquid into the mouth as you can cause aspiration pneumonia which will most likely be fatal, do not feed bread,  When you can find a wildlife rehabber in your area.

I have successfully raised starlings by getting support from the starling talk forum, please visit them for all you need to know....

  6. wow.....my advice leave the baby bird where the mom could able to see her baby(trust me she will come atleast to feed her baby)......or either get some unused syringe and removed the needle.....use that to feed ur baby bird.

about 3wks ago my son found a baby hummingbird outside my apartment.....what we did we put the baby bird outside and the mother came.....we kinda trapped that bird too to stay w/her baby. but for some reason after 3hrs she die(maybe she had heart attack)....so we keep the baby....we feed the baby hummingbird sugar water..............

now to be honest this hummingbird think i'm her mother...lol she loves to be pet and kisses.....very smart bird.

    so good luck on yours....

  7. If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest. Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched. If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival. Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own. Look for a rehab here:

A diet of bread will will cause this bird to die of starvation..please get it to a rehab soon if you cannot locate a nest.

  8. Don't feed it anything.  No water either. Find the nest.  Should be right above where you found it.   Put it back.   If you can't, take it to a rehabber in the morning.
