  1. Sadly, despite your best efforts, it probably won't survive.  And even if you manage to keep it alive, it will likely never be able to go in the wild again.

You should have left it alone honestly.  Birds are tricky to nurse to health.

If you really want to go through the trouble, you could try a local vet, though they will probably tell you something similar to what I've said.

  2. Are you sure it is injured..or could it just be a baby bird that cannot fly yet?  If it is an adult..get it to a wildlife rehab.  If it is a baby..please follow the following instructions:

If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly.   You need to replace it where you found it..preferably in a scrub or tree so it is relatively safe from predators, and the parents should come back to feed it.  If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest.  Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched.  If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival.  Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own.  Look for a rehab here:

  3. call a pet hospital

  4. You can call the local audubon chapter or the fish and game. There are also wildlife bird rescues in your area just google them and give them a call they will know what to do.

  5. Depending on which country you live in there should be a local wildlife organisation which cares for injured animals or birds - make contact with them asap and arrange for them to take over the care of this little bird. If you want to try something else in food, you could try some glucose, either liuid or powdered mixed in some warm water - about a teaspoon in 1/2 cup of water.  Give it to the bird with an eye dropper, holding it carefully wrapped in something and gently get it to open its beak. The glucose doesnt do any harm and may give it some energy as birds usually need to eat frequently to maintain a small but very active metabolism.

To keep it safe make a nest with an old towel or rag in a smallish cardboard box or similar to keep it feeling warm and secure - it would also be a good idea to keep it in an area that is quiet and not brightly lit too, so as to not scare it

  6. put it in a home made nest.. and feed it soggy dog food
