We found out we have a high concentration of methane in our water. What could this mean?

They are drilling alot around our neiborhood and we have always felt we have gas under the ground on our property.

  1. Methane is odorless it is the additive you are smelling- n-butyl mercaptan. Methane will probably not harm you, but I would call the EPA.


  2. it means that as they start paying your neighbors to get the gas under your property, you'll have less in your water.  won't that be a good thing?  :-(
