they may be japanese beetles. They are a pain. in our yard. We use these bags by gardens alive. It is a bag a bug method. It is a green bag that is suspended by a yellow plastic X. and there is a stake that holds in the ground. When the bag is first opened it reaks of pheromones. But after 10 min it is completely gone. Somehow the bugs can get in but cant get out. It is kind of gross to let the bags get completely full and see it moving.  But they do the trick.
