We get phone calls from an unknown number but they ALWAYS hang up-any idea who/why or how to figure out the #?

What we presume to be the same unknown caller calls up to several times a day. If we answer it is an instant dial tone, and if we let it run to the machine it leaves a dial tone message. Is there some way to figure out who this unknown caller is? Are there any likely culprits?

use *77 ACR....and see if they call back!!!

if you hear a stutter-tone then you know that ACR is activated!!!

I think what you are experiencing is a an automated dialer used by telemarketers to see if someone will answer. it usually comes across on my phone as "Unknown caller" or "Blocked call" Very irritating indeed. I know of no sure way to find out who is doing this.
