We have tried presure washing and we have tried sanding. The wax is too deep in certain area's to sand more.

  1. Use a hair dryer and scrape it off when it melts.

  2. if you have a power hose, try that.. it could possibly work..

  3. cover the spot with single layer of brown grocery bag,use a hot iron( no steam) keep going over the are, the heat will melt the wax, the bag will soak it up so keep moving the bag. this works on wood floors don't know about decks it may take a long time but it should get most of the wax out. good luck.

  4. You can take a razor blade, and painstakingly try to chip it away little by little. I know this sucks, but wax is a B*TCH to get out of well anything! Hope that was helpful to you, good luck getting it out!

  5. It must have been a really big candle! If pressure washing and sanding didn't help, you might be in trouble because the oil could be set in the wood.  What kind of wood is the deck made of?  I would replace the boards or stain the deck.  Cabot stain is probably the best and they offer a wide variety of options.
