My wife and I have 30 grand to invest any sugegstions?

You need to offer more information.

Why short term?

I suggest if you need the money in the next 3 to 6 months a safe CD at the bank is a wise move.

If you only need some of the money in the short term, take the rest and invest in mutual funds.

Talk to the investment person at the bank or an Edward Jones rep. to find out some options.

Be honest and not afraid of what they might think.

That way they can offer you some options for the future.

safe means cd's or treasury bills.............not much return but not much risk(none)
