Everything else seems to drain very well in the house (sinks, showers, tubs). I am consantly plunging all the toilets. We didn't have this problem in our last has (which was 30 yrs old). Is there something about the new water saving toilets that creates weak flushing.

  1. the toilets you have now are designed to use 1.6 gallons of water per flush, early 90's toilets used 3.5 gal per flush, the 30 year old house had 5 gal per flush. Now to get you a GOOD 1.6 gal per flush. TOTO is top, but they are expensive, american standard cadet 3 and kohler cimmaron are legal copies of toto drake toilet. they are both sold at home depot, and cadet 3 is approx $ 150.00 ea.

  2. I would reccomend a kohler toilet or a toto. they are great flushers even with the low flow.

  3. you got cheap crappers

take a look at the "TOTO" toilets with the G_MAX flushing system. They work great and it what I recommend to be installed in the buildings I work in

  4. dude you have something called a low flow toilet.....saves water but some of them don't have enough water to flush very well....try seeing if you can get a low flow toilet that has an forced flush...witch is not just letting it flush with gravity....it uses air to flow with your water

  5. You should replace them one at a time they do not cost that much.

I used to live in a brand new house with 4 baths and had the same prob.

I now live in a 50  year old house and we put in new toilets my plumber told me which brand to buy KOHLER and they work great.

We put an American standard in the base ment and you have to hold the handle the entire time for it to finish flushing.

My contractor told me he put a 400.00 toilet in his house and he hates it cuz it will not flush right .

So price doesn't mean you are getting the best product , talk to your plumber or just buy a KOHLER they work great and are not expensive.

  7. A house 2 years old should have the newer low flow toilets that were developed after the first round of low flow which had lots of problems.   I bought a Eljer Titan after being dismayed at the amount of water we were flushing just for pee.  It works by have a normal tall tank but only passing the top 5" of water (higher pressure) before stopping the flush and usually clears everything and refills rapidly and quietly.  About once a month I have to plunge it because of an extra large hard t**d.  Lots of models for different distances from the wall and heights.  Apparently 17" tall is popular but both my wife and I have short lower legs and so we bought the older lower height of 15"
