We have TWC and we can hear the phone ring, but when we answer, we can't hear them. Is it the phone or TWC?

I don't know if it is TWC or what. i mean, we can hear the phone ring when someone calls but we answer and we can't hear them while they can hear us. To put it, we spend a min. on the phone saying "hello?" when we can't hear them. And... to make it weirder, when we call someone, we can hear the phone dial the number, but we can't hear it ring or anything. Can any one help me? i really need to use my home phone...

If you want to find out if this is your phone or TWC service you have two choices.  Take your phone that you suspect might be bad and try it somewhere else, like a neighbors house.  Or take another phone that you know works and try it in place of the one you suspect is bad.

If your suspected bad phone works at your neighbor's house then trouble is with TWC.  If it doesn't the trouble is the phone.

If the known working phone also doesn't work then you know it is TWC.

Or you could just take a guess and call TWC- maybe from a cell phone and ask them to see if they can fix it remotely.
