It still starts up but cranks over slow. I added water to battery, and took the pos. terminal off while running to see if its the alternater.

I can't figure this one out. my wife is driving me crazy, but I am NOT a mechanic. she has to drive our 7 month old son around and dont want her getting stuck,......so..... any help please!

  1. Well first dont pull the cable off the terminals cause it can send a power surge through the computer modules in the car and cause a lot of damage. If the battery is fine then I would have to say your losing some voltage in the wire going from the battery directly to the starter. So have that wire checked out and then move on from there, but I would put money on it that thats the problem.

  2. id get the car to a shop so they can check out the starting and charging system

  3. Possible lazy battery. Its possible that the low water in the battery has resulted in internal damage or its just the battery getting a bit old. Buy a new one. Maybe the starter is on its way out. Buy a new one.
