We like the contemporary fire places. Do we need to have a new system installed?

  1. I will be interested to see what plumbers say as I was told that you could not just change the fire part alone.

  2. If your back boiler is a Baxi Bermuda you can still get replacement fire fronts without changing the boiler [as long as the boiler is not too old,1980's onwards].

    The range is limited though.

In the long term this is not cost effective because when the boiler needs replacing its unlikely you'll be able to have a new back boiler fitted because new building regs mean you have to fit condensing boilers except in rare cases. You'll then be left with a new fire you can't use.
