  1. yeah, what that guy said about the nest. find out where it is and avoid that area, (if you can)

  2. Any bird protecting a nest or chicks can do this ....it is not just one species...it is ALL birds.  It is breeding season so lots of birds are very territorial at the moment and have nests of babies nearby.  They are just scaring predators (you, cats, dogs, etc.) away from their young.  They really cannot harm you...and soon enough the babies will leave the nest/area and the parents will follow.  I would be more concerned that the cat will kill the birds rather than the other way around.  Also, do not listen to the person telling you to tear down birds nests..this is illegal, all wild native birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.   Sure, you can block off an area you do not want them nesting in..but once a nest is active...you need to let it runs its course before you remove it.

  3. Mockingbirds, Blue Jays and many others do this if they feel a threat to their chicks or themselves.

Is their nest under your eaves or in the bushes by your door?

We had some that built on our porch and they attacked every time my kids were outside.

Tear down the nest or they will be back each year to rebuild it and torment you.

  4. Any bird that is nesting will do that, male and female, you are too close to the nest for the birds comfort

  5. Barn Swallow
