We have a blue/purple weed growing on our lawn, please can someone recommend a weed killer to get rid of it.?

Last year was not bad but this year it seems to have doubled in quantity. At the moment we are trying to pick them out one by one but this will take us ages. What we need is a weed killer that will get rid of this weed but not damage our lawn. Thank you in advance.

You can pick up a weed and feed from any garden centre and it will do the job for you.

the weed is probably ajuga,  you can buy weedkiller that will kill broadleaf weeds and at the same time feed narrowleaf plants (like grass).

Regarding the picture - you need to go on to an image host website like 'photobucket', upload your photo onto there and they provide a link which you copy and paste into your question.  Its easier than it sounds - I only learned last week.

You can buy weedkiller especially for your lawn (e.g. Verdone Extra Lawn Weed killer).  If you use them carefully and follow the instructions they will not harm your lawn.  From experience, they will kill most lawn weeds.

Its not a weed, its a groundcover. If your lawn chemistry was good for grass then grass would be growing and not the groundcover. Just slowly transition form your lawn over to a different groundcover and forget about grass. Grass is too much trouble anyway.

I would try feeding them out. Get a good lawn feed and feed the grass on a regular basis. most wild plants don't survive good soil and will die with too many nutrients. Selective weed killers will just leave you with large brown patches.
