"The main goal was to reach the knock-out stage and to finish in first place. Ambitions for Benfica? Let's see how the draw will be and under what conditions will we play the next rounds. I do not know where we can get this year but we possess a lot of ambition,”
he said.
The 32-year-old also revealed that he did not have in mind any specific team that he wanted to face in the next round and insisted that the club must look to put on a good showing and add to their already glowing reputation.
"I have no preference. We must think only of ourselves and playing good games,” Pablo Aimar was quoted as saying.
While Benfica have made it past the group-stages of the UEFA Champions League, the real test starts now as the race to be crowned champions heats up.
