just me, or do any of you other goldwing riders feel that you are snobbed; looked at like you are nothings by some Harley riders. Please remember, I said SOME Harley riders. Why is this? Our bike was expensive and has everything under the sun on it and has an expensive matching pull behind trailer to hold all our luggage and more for long trips. We ride our bike all over the US, it's so comfortable, we don't have to trailer it around. What gives? We wave, they snob. I'd just like to understand why. We do have some friends who have Harleys, and they aren't this way. I'd like to add that we have been snobbed in every state we have been in (37), and 2 countries.

  1. They got a bad attitude. Who cares what they think. You are riding to enjoy your bike, not impress anyone.

I have found that most people who ride Harleys and dress like bikers are just wannabes. They have a terrible attitude about anyone who doesnt do what they do. I have abike, but Im not a biker. Im a farmboy , who works as a paramedic, who grew up riding dirtbikes and ATV's. I bought a bike for the fuel economy and because I occasionally like to go out for a scoot. I dont wave at alot of people because frankly its been awhile since I have been on a bike and because I have never had a street bike before so I try to concentrate on riding it, not waving. I wear a full face helmet, and my blue jeans, i will invest in a leather jacket for safety reasons and to cut the wind as fall is coming on. I dont wear a dorag and I really could care less if anyone else thinks Im cool enough or snubs me. I put saddle bags on because I need em, and I bought leather ones cuz I think they look pretty good and I got a deal on em. Just enjoy your bike, be safe and to those who have an attitude, s***w em.

  2. Harley riders?  A fellow I know sold his Voyager and bought a new 1800 GW.  He loves the bike but isn't so fond of the GW riders.  He says that far too many of those he's met are snobs and are almost as bad as BMW riders.  Most surprising was he said he prefered to attend rallys that were heavy on Harleys because those riders are more friendly than the GW riders.  Go figure.

  3. Just let them be my friend, let them be, I have a guy like that "answering" my question here, you can read him . . .I am feeling sorry for guys like, it is not the BIKE that makes you a BIKER, nor is a brand of the bike.

So just ride your way, feel free and stay strong ! ! !

  4. I own a Harley and two Hondas and have been "snobbed" both ways.  Even when riding the Harley other Harley riders don't wave and when riding the Hondas other Honda riders don't wave.

The whole American (Harley) vs. Japanese (any) bike "battle" is ridiculous.  What do riders of British or Italian bikes do?  Not wave at or be waved to by anyone?  Are they the "Switzerland" of bikes?

    Maybe you're too sensitive?

All that matters is you're out riding and enjoying it.

  5. When I'm the road on my Valkyrie, more Hog riders wave than Wingers.

The last guys who just acted snotty towards me were fatasss on over burdened VStars.

  6. There are many justifiable reasons why someone might "snob" you, or not wave back, you shouldn't be offended if every rider does not pay attention to you...i.e..a lot of times a Harley Rider will be in deep concentration, trying to pin point a rattle or a grinding noise in there engine.
