Our daughter did not realize that she should not touch the nest but she did to see in it . There are 4 eggs in it and I'm worried that the robin will now abandon the nest. She did not touch the eggs...just the nest.

  1. Call your local  SPCA and ask.

  2. probably will be ok,just give plenty of room, robin's have adapted to people pretty well, for example, they often follow me around when i mow grass ,or turn my compost pile,or rake, they come pretty close ,they tolerate us well..............tom

  3. It's fine.  Birds have horrible sense of smell and they do not typically abandon their nests with eggs.

  4. from now on watch it from a distance (through a window is OK) it should be OK as long as the adult birds don't see you peeking, i had some nesting in a pile of old flowerpots left on my patio a few years ago, i never got to plant up my pots that year, but it was well worth it 5 chicks were hatched successfully, i never done much housework either, but i had some great video film of the chicks progress right up to them leaving the nest.
