We have a sick dog, answers?

He's 5, half American pit. For the past week, his personality has seemed to change. He doesn't eat very much, and he just lays around looking depressed. He acts scared of us, and we haven't done anything to him. He had most of his shots, it's time for another vet visit, but I was wondering if anyone has had this problem with their dog. Thanks for any info.

sounds like heart worms to me but definitely have the vet check him out. it's a serious condition that can be fatal if not treated in time

he may have swallowed something. Does he like to chew on things? If so you could give him some Hydrogen Perioxide. It will make him vomit and maybe get what ever is stuck in there out.

This is a total shot in the dark...but, by any chance, did you recently get a new carpet anywhere in your home?

I've seen reports (don't have a link) that there is a chemical in some carpets that can make pets ill.

Like I said, maybe not the answer, but a possibility.

Consider checking what kind of lifestyle he was living,how he was treated, if he was a stray,or maybe he mourning his last owner could be some possibilities.
