We have had gardner snakes since this house was built in the 60's and they have only been a few and for about 2-3 years we never saw one. And this year we have seen 2-3 out at a time in a day. We have dogs one is a puppy and he likes to play with them I know they are not poisons but they are scary long and creepy. I am tired of finding them. And they are all ways right by the door where we let the dogs out. We have a appointment for Tuesday but what can we do till then? I don't want me to get bitten or the dogs. They are long scary and hard to find but when you find them they are mean. And its not one or 5 or 8 its like over 30. And we see them about twice a day and 2 or 3 at a time. I really need help. I know they are not poisonous but they are scary and could hurt the puppy. Please help.

  1. Go to farm supply or wal-mart and buy something called snake ~ be ~ gone or snake ~ a ~way.

  2. Looks like you've had a spring hatch nearby.  The main reason they are still around is that they have an abundant food source.  Get rid of that, and the snakes will find somewhere else to go.  Since they feed mainly on insects, you might want to treat the area around your home and you should see improvement in the situation within a week.

  3. snake away..

  4. If removing the food source doesn't work as gilfinn suggested, call your local animal control.

They may be able to catch them for you, or give you traps to catch them yourself.  Then, just let them go away from any homes.

Wiki says they can have 3 to 50 snakes hatch at a time.  It also lists the types of foods they like.  See the link in the source box.

  5. put moth balls around where ever you think they might be commin in and around the perimiter of your house and thier gone forever!

oh by the way cancel the appt.!!!!!!!!!!!
