We have a sony cybershot 7.2 megapixel camera that got soaked with water at the lake? is it repairable?

  1. (this is usually for cell phones that have been dropped into the water, but hey it might work for your camera) Get a large container and fill it with uncooked rice, then leave your soaked device (taken apart - battery cover and battery unit) inside the container, completely covered by the rice. Wait overnight, and then reassemble your device and then try to turn it on. If it still doesn't work, it has water damage so you need to take it to a shop that does digital camera repairs!

    Good luck, I hope it gets fixed (7.2 megapixel cameras are pretty cool)

    (The uncooked rice will naturally soak up the moisture)

    * edit:  If you decide to blow dry it, set the blow dryer on COOL or else the heat may damage the internal parts of your camera!


  2. well maybe depends how bad the water damge is...if this incedent just happened then you can still fix it by drying it with a blow dryer if not then take it to a best buy or circuit city or something and ask them if it can be fixed...if not then youll have to get a new one...
