We have about a 14-15 year old Maytag electric
stove & oven. I coulnd't find one that looked like it anywheres. It has
two k***s on either side of the clock and timer. Can't find a model number on
it, just a lot of part numbers that start with 8114P. When my wife went to turn
on the oven tonight it popped the circuit breaker. Now it had done it a week
ago but she's used it since so we didn't think anything about it. I unplugged
it and the circuit will stay on but as soon as you plug the oven in, it sparks
at the box on the floor where you plug it in. I can't find any place to take it
apart to check it. I checked the back of the stove where the wires hook up and
everything is fine. I cleaned out the oven just in case that was doing it. I
told her it was a mess underneath the burners and took them all out but it still
tripped it. It did it once a week or so ago and now all the time. Have you any
ideas what could be wrong? We are both on social security disability and don't
have amuch money for a repairman, let alone a new stove. Thanks
Bill Krohn
