Upon receiving a service dog for my disabled daughter, we have agreed to help fundraise for the service dog organization. (www.neads.org). Are there any companies that I can contact that would consider donating to this fabulous organization? The are a legitimate organization that helps SO MANY disabled children (and now Veterans). I am very close to my goal and would like to contact some corporations to help me finish what I started. They have made such a positive difference in our lives, I would like to pay it forward (so to speak).

  1. Is the fund raising being done in lieu of the cost of the dog?  A lot of companies do this.  Good that you got a dog!

Well, I can think of things such as holding benefits at local Petco stores.  Petco is one of the most wonderful for allowing groups with non-profit status to have benefits held in their stores.  You can contact corporate through http://www.petco.com and ask them about it.

I would also consider renting a table at a local flea mart and bringing lots of service dogs, and asking for donations, in exchange for home-made dog treats.  You will profit off of the cost of the treats and can incorporate the money as benefit money toward the organiztion.

I really hope my little 2 cents helps.

I do know that without my service dog I would be lost, in a world unable to function properly.  He is an incredible animal and he's changed my entire life.

    :)
