  1. I had this problem and used Kilz before I repainted. Your bathroom isn't ventilated properly so the problem will return if you don't fix that also. I put a small oscillating fan in my bathroom that cost like 5 bucks and leave it on for about an hour after I shower. Problem solved.

  2. We have the same problem.  Is your bathroom vented to the outside?  You should let that fan run for about 1/2 hour after anyone takes a bath or shower.  You can put the fan on a timer if you want so it shuts off automatically (this is through the flip switch.)  Also there are mold and mildew sprays that can be found in your hardware/home improvement/discount stores that can help keep this condition at bay.  That is what finally helped us.  I treated the walls with bleach, then used Scotchguard's Mold Block spray.

By the way, we used the painting product (not sure if it was Kilz, but we paid a lot of money for it) and it didn't really help much with keeping the black mold away.  I'm not saying it doesn't work, it just didn't do the trick for us.

  3. I had the same problem in my old apt bedroom & found that I was disinfecting with bleach @least 4x a yr. but then I painted the walls & never had a problem after that.

For the bathroom make sure you use mildew proof paint instead of regular paint.

  4. after cleaning make sure the windows are cracked open ,day and night the constant flow of air helps to keep the spores from settling, also dries  the walls and ceilings faster.

  5. try tilex mold and mildew remover. u spray it on, let it dry, and then wipe/spray down with a wet sponge or water. i swear by this stuff.

  6. Household bleach and water mixed 50-50. add 2 tbls. dish detergent per 1 glln. of solution.

  7. bleach and comet

  8. If its coming from the outside of the walls x-14 will take care of it. if its coming from the inside of the walls from a water leak you will need to replace everything and fix the leak as its toxic.

  9. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a can of Kilz.  It goes on just like paint and is supposed to take care of mold, etc.  Then repaint the bathroom in your color of choice.
