  1. This is a REALLY good question because most people getting rid of fleas are doing so because their pets brought them in.  Fleas can also hop onto your pant leg when you're in a friend's home whose pet has fleas or if animals come into your yard that have them.

Definitely don't recommend bug bombs.  They put a filmy coat on EVERYTHING in your home - not just where the fleas are.  So you'll have this on your walls, your electronics, etc.

Another option would be to sprinkle 20 Mule Team Borax into your carpets.  The borax disintegrates the exoskeleton of the flea and kills it.  You can find a box of it in most grocery stores in the laundry aisle.  I'd try that first then if that fails, call an exterminator.

Another option - as odd as it may seem - would be too borrow a friend's pet that's currently on a flea treatment like Advantage, Frontline or Revolution.  The fleas will hop onto the animal to feed and then end up dying.  This would probably be the quickest way to get rid of them.

  2. You need a home bomb for the fleas.  You can find them in the store or go to the vet for one.  I know my vet has the house flea bombs for sale in his office.  You need to read the instructions carefully.                  Clean-up is necessary after the bomb for health sake.  If you cannot handle the bombs you might have to get a professional exterminator to spray for fleas.

  3. Have you tried flea bombs? Take anything you can wash like bedding and whatnot, and wash it in hot water. Vacuum daily, and throw the bags out. Don't know if borax will work. If all else fails, call an exterminator!

By the way, you don't need to have pets to have fleas. Fleas can lay their eggs in carpeting, and the eggs can survive for years waiting for a blood meal.
