  1. To make that statement true you would have to write it like this: We have inherited the earth from our ancestors and are borrowing it from future generations.

This doesn't matter what issue we are discussing be it, pollution, garbage piling up on our streets, over fishing or cutting too many trees down without replanting trees in their place, not planning our cities and towns well enough to include patches of land around them. All these things are more important then the idea that man is changing the climate of this planet, since we really don't have any control over that no matter what the AGW pundits want us to believe.

  2. As long as the economy is free and taxed at a low level, each generation lives better than the last.

  3. Global warming doesn't exist LOL

  4. You know You are rigth. We did not inherit this Earh            from our forefathers, we inherited it   from our foremothers they are the ones that makes the world go round ,we try to keep safe , no wars for us, talk don't fight ,care and love that is mother Earth .

  5. This is a wonderful expression that evokes images of the past, present and future all in one sentence.

We are, I believe, stewards of the planet and it's resources.  We've not seen it in that light, overall, and have lost track of the fact that it is nature's services that sustain us.  Without a healthy planet, we cannot live, grow, love.

The decisions we are making and will make in the next 10 - 20 years are critical in determining what kind of a world will exist in the future.  We exist on a planet where some of the resources are finite, yet we've not acted accordingly.  By not being fully responsible in our development, we have obliterated resources and lifeforms that our children could have enjoyed.  I never got to see the passenger pigeon, for instance, because once, when the world realized their days were numbered, individuals, zoos and museums selfishly went out into the wild to secure specimens for their collections.  Their selfish act deprived future generations from having the companionship of this species.  Whatever niche it filled was vacated suddenly, because of our short-sighted actions.

Having borne two children, and with a grandson now in the picture, I have evidence of future generations right in front of me, and that makes it personal.  All I have to do is project what our actions will have for them and it really clarifies things for me.

  6. to the person above be global warming is most certainly not a myth if every one keeps thinking like that by 2050 we will be screwed

on the statment i have nothing to say

  7. Those who do not exist have no claim on my property.  Just as I can write my children out of my will, I owe the next generation nothing.  What I choose to leave them is purely at my own discretion.  Hopefully my work today fighting the lunacy of AGW theory will benefit me in the coming years, coincidentally allowing those who come later to have the FREEDOM to pursue their own interests.

  8. and the next generation can say the same thing too, ad nauseum........

if the doomsayers are right, it will happen during OUR lifetimes, much less our kids....

the planet is OURS right now and  we need to take care of it

now, not just for the future.

(not that I actually believe in the GW myth)

  9. No future generation has anything to fear from manmade global warming other than what it will cost financially.  That's because it's not real.

  10. First, Global Warming is a myth.

Glad we got that out of the way.

Next, the statement is neither true nor false. Yes, we have inherited this Earth from our forefathers, and yes, we are borrowing it from future generations.

  11. Well our "forefathers" used to clear cut forests without replanting trees!  Our "forefathers" used to bash each other's heads in with clubs, some of our "forefathers" were even cannibals!

But Global Warming is a man made myth!   It is the new fear for the newspapers and mass media to push!  Before Global Warming (a natural repeating cycle the earth has gone through for a billion years) the mass media would push the Cold War as the fear to end mankind!  Well, Reagan ended that threat and the myth of Global Warming is the new FEAR to push!

We could go back to living in the woods, killing and eating animals, dying of diseases that are curable today - or we can enjoy life as much a we can!   We can conserve energy use, we can recycle, we can pollute less - but we don't have to be crazy either!

We have more trees today in the U.S. because modern man puts out forest fires, our Forefathers just let the fires burn everything in it's path - including valuable timber and millions of animals!

Global Warming, Climate Change is a way for individuals and companies to make millions or billions of dollars!   Fat Al Gore made over 100 million dollars on this myth last year!

    Follow the money!
