We have nothing to fear against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604: Cesc Fabregas
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 skipper Cesc Fabregas has labelled Barcelona as the best team in Europe but has claimed that the Gunners have nothing to fear while facing the Spanish Champions during the UEFA Champions League knockout fixture.
Fabregas, who was heavily linked with a move back to his boyhood club Barcelona during the 2009-10 summer transfer window, has stated that the Gunners would try their best to end Barcelona’s dream of winning the Champions League title.
“We don't have to worry too much about them - we just have to play with no fear and play our game. We respected them too much last season, in the first half especially. We know they are the best team in the world and it is a big task for us. We have a young
team but one with a lot of quality and energy,” said Fabregas.
Moreover, the Spaniard also hailed Barcelona’s impressive form in the on-going 2010-11 season and claimed that it would not be an easy match against the Catalan giants.
“It is difficult to learn from last year. They are such a good team. Even if you know everything, they have so many quality players that can make the difference,” said the Arsenal skipper.
It was Barcelona who ended Arsenal’s European campaign in the 2009-10 season. The Gunners managed to pull out a 2-2 draw against Barca at Emirates Stadium but crashed out at Nou Camp after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 scored four times to put an end to Arsenal’s European
glory dream.
Fabregas, who is expected to lead Arsenal against his former club on Wednesday night, has insisted that the Gunners are much stronger in 2011 and are capable of producing an upset against the Catalan giants.
Arsenal are the only team in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, which is fighting on four fronts. Arsene Wenger’s men are now the main contenders in the title race along with Manchester United, who are currently above the Gunners by four points in the Barclays Premier League. The
north London team are already through to the final of Carling Cup and will face Birmingham City on 27 February. Moreover, Arsenal are also playing FA Cup and will face League One side, Leyton Orient in the fifth round.
However, Barcelona are also going through their best form of late, as they have lost just twice in the current season and are at the summit of the La Liga table with a five-point lead. The Catalans are also through to the Copa Del Rey final and will play
against their fierce rivals Real Madrid.
Barca’s 16 consecutive league wins feat was halted recently when they were held to a 1-1 draw against Sporting Gijon. But it is still the same side which thrashed Jose Mourinho’s full of superstars Real Madrid by five goals to nil earlier in the season.
Barcelona’s amazing form should be a real concern for Arsene Wenger’s men as the Spanish Champions have been tipped as favourites to claim the 2011 European crown.
