  1. Absolutely.

    Railroads spend lots of money on weed abatement.  They won't mind if you clear the brush.  It is a fire hazard.  Fires can start in brush along the right of way by brake shoes on the freight cars.

    Be safe when clearing the brush, especially if using a chain saw or other powered equipment while wearing hearing protection, lest any equipment sneaks up on you.

  3. Railroads will always be thankful if you remove brush from along the Right of Way.

    The engineer needs to see where he's going .

  4. If the railroad has an easement on your property, they may clear any brush they desire. If not you may maintain brush there. Check at your County / city / town hall records for the existence of an easement.

  5. I would if it was going to make my yard look better. I don't see why not. I don't think you can cut it down but trim it I think so. Call your city hall. They will know.
