We have some trees that need cutting down and shredding where can we get tools for this?

There are many Tool Rental places. even Lowes and HD rent tools. For small trees you may want a set of loppers and maybe a chainsaw. Many also rent small chipper/shredders.

You can get everything you need at your local equipment rental store (united rentals/sunbelt/nations rent). Since they are small trees you can get a small chipper and use the chips for mulch in your garden. You can also get a very small backhoe ( terimac) that is just a little larger than a small garden tractor and dig all the roots and stumps up. They will deliver and pick up and also show you how to use all equipment.

I agree with K M, if you want them shredded just rent a shredder from your local equipment rental dealer. then bag up the chips a dispose of them or use them as mulch/ground cover in your new garden.

If they are small trees (under 10 feet) you should be able to take them out yourself with a shovel and tree trimmers.  Just keep cutting branches with a tree trimmer (a saw might help if needed).  Then dig around the trunk base to remove the underground roots.  Same thing for the bushes.

Now if you are talking about a large/tall tree or with a trunk base of over 8 inches you should call a professional.  The last thing you would want to happen is a smashed roof.
