The smaller 'eating' spider is brown with a big belly...the other is (was) big but is on the floor, under the other spider's web...eaten I suppose! I looked online at spider ID charts to try t ID the first spider but can't seem to find...the second is too tough to id bc all shriveled up...

  1. Spiders eat other spiders all the time.  You do not need to worry unless you find a spider infestation, or a poisonous spider, like a brown recluse or black widow.  If you give more description on how the spiders look I could help you identify them.  But, no need to really worry, in the world of animals big eats small, even if sometimes its the younger brother.

  2. Its not unusual for spiders to eat other spiders, including their own species. Plenty of male spiders end up as dinner during mating. I've heard of a species of spider where the mother gets eaten by her young.

  3. Ok i would be feaking out right now!  Call a pest control person and have them handle it!  I dont think..no..i have Never heard of a spider eating another spider!  Good luck with that!  Just open the yellow pages and dial!
