We have the depth to cope with the loss of Lee and Watson, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MG-Johnson-c1945 – Cricket News Update
Australian pace bowler Mitchell Johnson has admitted that losing players of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558’s stature in the midst of the series is a huge blow for his side however, was confident that the depth in the pace bowling department would help Aussies
to cope with the loss when they lock horns with England for one last time this English summer, at Old Trafford, Manchester, on Tuesday.
“It's a pretty big blow obviously with the experience of those two guys,” said Johnson while speaking to
Sky Sports News.
“But it's something we can work with as well. We've got a very talented squad that we've got over here,” he added further.
Australian pace bowling spearhead Brett Lee and prolific all-rounder Shane Watson, on Monday were sent home to get treatment for the calf injuries they sustained during the fourth One Day International of the five-match series, at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street
in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 bowled only one over before leaving the field in the 13th, while Lee delivered 14 balls before limping off the ground three overs later.
Having already lost the five-match series to England 3-0 – with losses at Lord’s, The Oval and Riverside – the mighty Aussies were looking to regain some of the lost pride with a victory in the fifth and final encounter of the itinerary. But injuries to
experienced players have further deepened their miseries on the tour of England.
Johnson however, still hopes to turn the tables on the hosts in the final one dayer.
“We've got one more chance here to show England and ourselves that we're good enough. I believe we're good enough,” said the Queenslander, who has 47 Tests and 108 One Day Internationals under his belt.
“We just need to have their fire in our http://www.senore.com/Cricket/IR-Bell-c1597 and show that confidence and belief and go out there and do a good job,” he insisted.
Pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yorkshire-c867 in this season’s Friends Life T20 tournament, has been called up as cover for the injured duo however, it remains to be seen whether he makes the Tuesday’s playing XI.
