The Manchester United boss has urged his team to press hard and stay clear of stupid mistakes, which cost them a place in the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League last term.
Drawn against the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079, Otelul Galati and Benfica, the group seemed quite easy for the Red Devils to handle last September.’
However, the Eagles from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 topped the table, while Basel knocked out the English giants at the very last hurdle, prompting a fall to the UEFA Europa League.
This time around, a similar, perhaps even easier group awaits them, but with the strengthening they have undergone this summer, United are favourites to come out on top.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Braga-c40460 and Galatasaray await the Reds in the UEFA Champions League, something which should come as a relief considering what their Noisy Neighbors have to face.
Manchester City have been drawn in the same group as Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax, all of whom are reigning champions of their respective leagues.
So for the time being, the Old Trafford faithful can relax and look forward to welcoming European nights at the Theatre of Dreams.
However, manager Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson has warned his side of complacency and claimed that they must avoid stupid errors if they are secure qualification to the next round.
“Braga are one of the improving teams from their country. Obviously, we have never played Cluj before but, after the experience of last year, we don’t want to make any stupid errors this time. We will field our strongest line-up to make sure that we get
through.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 also highlighted what the coach said and reiterated that the players will try their best to prevent what happened last year, or risk the consequences of an early departure from Europe's Premier competition.
“The league is the priority but when the Champions League comes round, of course you put everything into it. We know the work has to be done now and hopefully we have learnt from last year and can have a much better campaign this time around,” said the Englishman.
