  1. Use some lysol or other cleaning solution. We use Orange glo on our hardwood floors. And usually it takes a few hours to absorb it.


  2. I was curious about this, so I did some web research.  The most common suggestions were 1/2 cup vinegar in 1 gallon warm water, or Murphy's Original Wood Soap prepared according to the instructions on the bottle.
