  1. How big and how common are they?  White-wing doves are common.  Check out a copy of the Audubon Field Guide to Western Birds at the library and check the pictures and maps.


  2. If you mean a white band on the tail, with darker colors up top and chocolate on the chest, you are talking about a Harris Hawk. Read about them. They are awesome.
