  1. You get what you pay for. If you're trying to increase your aggregate bandwidth with a second dsl modem , your money would be better spent purchasing a single/faster  CABLE connection or Fibre connection. A second dsl connect requires a second telephone number/ Line and will be just a slow as the first one, but for twice the money (total)..  Try using a program like GETRIGHT: you can schedule your downloads at night and you can use up to 20 simultaneous streams for the same download.

  2. I suppose that you could buy a seperate modem and put it in your room, but you may also have to pay a seperate bill or have to pay more money for your service.

You may want to try purchasing a wireless router so that any computer in your house with a wireless connection could be connected to the Internet.

Even if a computer doesn't have a wireless connection, you could probably hardwire it to the router and be able to access the Internet that way.

Good luck and I hope I helped you!

  3. You can if you first get a second phone number since DSL is tied directly to your phone line.  But, why don't you just ditch the DSL and go for a cable modem  or a fiber connection instead?  DSL is probably giving you a download speed of 1.5 mbps while cable and fiber will give you 6 to 12 mbps download speed.  That's the best way to improve your download speed.
