The Amsterdammers boss hopes the Inter Milan defender chooses his former side instead of Real Madrid in the upcoming winter transfer market.
Ajax Amsterdam head coach, Frank de Boer, has urged Inter Milan defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristian-Chivu-c9519, to reject reported interest shown by Real Madrid to pursue his career at his former club. The 31-year-old's contract at San Siro is going to end in the summer of 2012.
The Romanian central defender made 107 appearances for the Amsterdam giants before making his move to join AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 in the summer of 2003. The former Amsterdammers stopper then moved to Inter in the 2007/08 season, where he has thus far managed to make 98
appearances.
However, the 31-year-old is now looking set to leave the Serie A outfit on a free transfer once his contract expires at the end of the 2011/12 season.
La Liga giants, Real Madrid, have reportedly shown keen interest in acquiring the veteran defender’s services in the upcoming winter transfer market. However, the Ajax boss hopes to lure the central defender to Amsterdam Arena.
“We know that Real Madrid also loves him, but we hope he will choose to return to his former house”, De Boer was quoted as saying to the media.
However, the Romanian stopper’s agent, Joan Becali, recently revealed that his client would not prefer a switch back to his former club and would love to continue pursuing his career abroad. Becali also added that he is negotiating with three elite clubs
and will reach an agreement soon.
The Madrid giants are struggling with injuries at the back, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-Carvalho-c30973 are both out of action. Ramos sustained a slight muscle injury in his side’s final game before the winter break, while Carvalho is on the sidelines since the
past two months.
Chivu, who can also play at the left-back position, was a part of Jose Mourinho’s treble winning http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 side in the 2009/10 season. The 31-year-old could ply his trade at Santiago Bernabeu should any complications arise in Ramos and Carvalho’s injuries.
With the current scenario, it seems unlikely that the central defender would join Ajax in the upcoming January transfer window.
