We hope to go from Luxor to Aswan.

as usual you'll make cruise from luxor to aswan in 4 nights 5 days or 3 nights 4 days, during your trip you'll have  execursion  to do it with your guide

Check with your GP.  You may need to take anti-malarial tablets - avoid mosquitoes.

Yes avoid “the sun”.

“Ra” does not pity those who go out at midday, it is to hot out there this time of year.  I went on a Nile cruise end February beginning of March and it was plenty hot enough then.  

Enjoy your holiday and see if you can read an overview of the family relationships of the Egyptian gods before you go, you will find lots of parallels with Biblical narrative.  Also have a look at the history of the Nubians at the time the Aswan dam was built.  

Arrive at your places of interest as early as possible.  If you can fly to Abu Simbel do so, its much quicker and you stand a chance of beating the crowds.

So take great care have a great time and take a large sun hat.
