My dad used a portion of his retirement money to buy our family a really nice car....a really expensive as well. He insists that i drive it and show off to my friends. Now, as much as i would LOVE to drive around and show off our car (and boost my ego!) im terrified at the thought of someone stealing it or damaging then having to pay thousands of dollars in repairs. Any tips on how i can try to keep it out of harms way?

  1. If your dad is shallow enough to 'insist' that you drive it around to 'show off' to your friends then I pray to God it does get stolen. It might teach you both a lesson.

Sorry to say that your dad sounds like a complete jerk - as do you.

AND IN ANOTHER QUESTION YOU POSTED TODAY YOU STATE THAT YOU ARE 15 YEARS OLD....SO YOUR DAD IS GOING TO LET HIS 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TAKE HIS NEW FERRARI OUT TO SHOW OFF TO HER FRIENDS HUH? WHAT RUBBISH. YOU ARE LYING!!!

  2. you can glue a thumb tack with some sort of fast acting poison on it to all the door handles,

just make sure you don't poke yourself

  3. If someone REALLY wants it, they WILL find a way to steal it.

But theres alot of ways to lower your chances from the casual drug addict idiot thief, and the occasional pro.

    Alarms

    Lo-jacks

Never park it in any sketchy areas.

Park it in plain view when your out if possible

When your at home get it in the garage under a cover

    Kill switch

As for not crashing it, drive carefully!

Dont forget a good insurance plan, lol.

  4. Have an ignition disabler put on it, a good alarm system, a Lo-Jack, and a good insurance policy.

If you're like me, when I get a brand new expensive car, I feel like everyone on the road is out to hit me, I park at restaurants only where I can sit by the window and watch it, I can't stand to be in a supermarket but a few minutes until I can get back out to check on the car, I park at motels that have windows on the room looking out at the parking lot, and don't sleep well at night. It's very stressful. If I had a car like yours, I would soon be in the nut-house.

  5. put an alarm on it, take your keys with you, put a theft look on it, park it in the middle of a croud of cars so no one can see it

  6. Park it in the living room.

  7. The chances of the car being stolen is pretty small.Car thieves tend to go for more popular cars, they're easier to get rid of.I'd be more worried about the car being vandalised.Don't worry about the Morons who say your shallow(or your Dad). He's obviously worked hard all his life and now has the chance to enjoy the spoils of his labour.I own a 74 Corvette, saved for 32 years to buy it.Guess that makes me shallow too,but h**l,am I having fun.

  8. Ignition interrupter, Lo-Jack, and keep it garaged at night.  Kudos to your dad for enjoying his retirement.  That's what it is all about.

  9. ALARM/GARAGE  :)

  10. Try insurance

And if your that shallow that you need to find self worth in a car?

    well somethings wrong

  11. two way car alarm and lo jack. Why do you need a car to boost your ego? I drive a peace of junk.

  12. If he can afford a reallllly expensive car he can afford the reallllly expensive insurance, but a reallllly expensive security system with lo-jack will probably get him a small discount on his policy and give you a little peace of mind.

  13. A few tips 1) garage it when you're not driving it 2) install an engine immobiliser if you don;t already have one 3) drive with your doors locked to prevent carjacking 4) look into 'data dots' technology, so if the car is stolen it can be more easily identified if it is recovered. 5) if it's a really expensive car - then you may want to also look into a GPS tracking system - you can get one that dials you mobile phone if the car is moved without authorisation

  14. All the above .

I had an expensive sporst Jag Convertable, But just was always sick with worry even with all the insurances.

Forget the prestige and go for practical so you can sleep at night a car is not worth anything if your to afraid to drive it let alone park it away from home. I now have a Toyota Cruiser and it,s never been touched and if I go out, I enjoy myself and don't look over my shoulder.
