  1. change your function!!

  2. this is because the tv is a 16:9 widescreen TV, meaning that the ratio of the image is 16 times wide, to 9 times high, the normal square(ish) tv is 4:3, so if you put a 4:3 image onto a 16:9 screen it appears to be all squished so that it fits it full screen.

there is two ways to get around this problem.

The first and preferred option is to change the settings on your source (dvd player or digital stb or whatever you are using) to 16:9 widescreen to match your tv. this way it will show widescreen footage in widescreen, and normal footage with black bars on the sides.

the second is to change the input sttings on your tv to 4:3 to match your source. (this will give you two black banners on either side of the picture to maintain the correct aspect ratio) This method isn't desirable as you will often get the postage stamp affect, where a widescreen image will be shwon with black bars on the sides, aswell ast top and bottom.. effectively not using the entire screen

my advice is to go to the settings menu in your dvd player or whatever you are using, find the menu for aspect ratio and change it to 16:9

your tv's display should be set to normal, or wide

  3. try the size of the screen
