  1. To have HD on your HD TV you need 2 more things.  1.  A HD cable/satellite/antenna source for the actual HD content.  Yes, regular cable/satellite looks ok but to get the most out of your investment, you need to subscribe to either HD cable, or HD satellite or have an HD antenna.  2.  You need an HDMI cable connecting your HD receiver (be it either from the cable company or your satellite company.  Yes, you can use a component cable but it can't carry enough bandwidth to provide all the data a HD picture needs to make it HD.  Your picture will suffer for it.  Like trying to feed a swimming pool with a piece of hose used in an aquarium; just ain't big enough.

Depending on your set, this should take care of the issue.

  2. Try clening the connector ends (risk of shock exbected)and refix it firmly, try few other channel for clarity with your analogue cable. If no success try a DVD  movie  through front AV in.For any manufacturing defects call the guarenteer and get a reblacement of the entire unit.

  3. Let me take a step back...

Are you feeding the HDTV a standard def signal?  The same signal that was developed in late 1940's for a nine-inch tube?

You need to upgrade your service to HD. The best "analog cable" in the world wont do anything if you feed standard def to that TV.

Then - use an HDMI cable between the cable box/sat box.  Only a HDMI cable or a HD rated component cable (3 RCA cables in a bundle) can carry HD video.

    Or - do this:

    - Type your address into www.antennaweb.org and see if you can use a indoor antenna. (It will show you a map where the broadcast towers are around your home)

    - Go buy some "rabbit ears" or  the Phillips Silver Sensor Classic indoor antenna for about $25. Hook it up and have the TV scan for signals. Chances are you can get some local HD stations for free.

    CABLES:

www.bluejeanscables.com  - Good HDMI cables and good HD rated component cables.

    www.monoprice.com - cheep imported cables

www.shopzilla.com - shopping site that can show you where to buy the Silver Sensor antenna on-line.

www.dishnetwork.com - They have some new packages called "Turbo" where all the channels are in high def.  A 722 PVR is strongly recommended. (I'm watching Olympic Soccer on my PVR in high def ans I type this.)

  4. you're not supposed to use a regular analog cable. that's the problem. u have to use a component or hdmi cable to get HD resolution.
