Question:

We just installed pergo flooring over a hardwood floor, now the radiators pipes are too low?

We can not get the radiator to sit properly because the new wood floor raised everything up. The radiator pipes that are in the floor do not hook up to the correct spot on the radiator. What can we do. Can we raise the pipe from the basement to come up higher in the floor or do we have to cut our new pergo floor to allow the radiator legs to sink down a little bit.

  1. Can you attach more pipe to extend the pipe to fit?

  2. try cutting the legs on the radiator. maybe easier said than done, but i think that if you have the tools (cutting torch maybe?) this can be a minor obstacle. Hope the floor turns out well.

  3. I would extend the pipes. You have spent a lot of money just to cut holes in the flooring. You should be able to have a plumber thread a pipe the right length. Then install it your self.
