Aren't they going to be the first one under water due to global warming? Ireland is less than they are.

Scotland may still be there, isn't that higher?

  1. England is not a continent, it's a country in the UK, on the british isles. And no, we are not going to be 'first under'. Bangladesh is 1m above sea.

  2. No continents, or landmass, or islands, or even Algore's mansion in Tennessee, are going to go under from globul warming. Ocean levels have been rising since the last iceage and the rates have not changed. Lunar orbits and the tidal forces have more effects on sea levels than co2, or anything else man has or will do. Chill out, it's all the biggest lie of our time.

  3. First, England isn't a continent.  It is attached to the continent of Europe.  Second, it isn't ever going to be under water due to global warming for the reasons the first answer suggested.  The worst case scenario would suggest that those structures that are below 20 feet above sea level (approximately 7 meters above mean sea level), may be submerged (or atleast their foundations).  Chances are it will rise your height in about 500 years anyway.  There are no changes in the rate of sea level rise.  All you hear from alarmists is that it may rise which means they don't know any more than anyone else.

  4. bits of england are below sea level, in particular the wash in east anglia, this will indeed be one of the first areas to be affected, along with the nederlands and bangladesh.

the U.K. environment agency has a plan of 'managed retreat' for a rise of about 1 metre this century.

and we are only a country, not a continient, continent or even a content, shame ;-)
