Question:

We just received a phone call on the landline from a mobile, when I tried to text them...?

The house phone rang, and when my Nana answered it, this is what was said...

Nana: "Hello?"

Person: "Hello, can you hear me?"

Nana: "Yes."

Person: "...[phone went dead]..."

I tried to send a text message from my mobile to the number, asking who they were, but it kept coming up as 'error'. I've rarely seen this message when sending a text message - I would have assumed that if it was a mobile number, a text message would send? I tried a number of times before giving in.

I don't want to phone the number in case it is some sort of scam (I'm not usually suspicious, but it's just a bit odd that a text won't send), so has anybody got any ideas what it was? I've Googled the number, 07036586073, and nothing came up. If you somehow get a message to them and they tell you who they are, can you tell me who they are please lol...

Thanks in advance :)

  1. It does sound a bit iffy, if you get any more tell your phone line provider youre getting nuisance calls.

  2. Well I texted them and it went through, I will keep u updated

  3. 1. It could be a landline. Most phones do not send to landlines. But can send a voice over threw text.

2.Try turning your phone off and on try again if that doesnt work then chances are its a landline.

  4. 070 is not a mobile, it is a premium number commonly used for patientline, ie the phones used by the side of a bed. Do you know anyone in hospital? These are very expensive to ring ie over a pound a minute.

  5. My friend had the same phone call a few times.  I think it is either a lame joke or a scam. After getting those calls, she had one from some Asiann-sounding guy, trying to tell her that someone had put an "illegal card reader" on a cash machine "near the bank".  He wanted her card details to check if all her money had been stolen.  The problem is, she couldn't understand what he was saying.  She handed to phone to me, and I said we don't give our card details to anyone for any reason, and I would call the police.  He then started to shout and swear at me and I put the phone down.

  6. The number is a UK personal number originally in the range issued to Telecom Essex Ltd..
