We just saw a black snake with one orange stripe what kind is it?

we live in south florida and i want to say its a coral snake but im not sure it was so small.

Don't worry about it they have mildly venomous saliva, but they use their rear teeth to get it into their prey.

Don't pick it up, they don't like to be handled, and will try to bite, but they also produce a NASTY musk. Just leave them be, there are probably more of them around where you saw them.
